Personal Development Tool – Goal Setting
by Ron Sombilon Gallery In the back of every person’s mind, he has a clear vision of what he wants to be. There is a perfect world hidden somewhere in the recesses of the collective brain. How did the development of the personal computer in the 1980s “rock” the 1980s?
Question by Tong Bok-Chi: How did the development of the personal computer in the 1980s “rock” the 1980s? Best answer: Answer by casapulla2001Didn’t really “rock” the 80s… (it rocked the 90s) Computers were used as typing/office “terminals”, and for reports in offices in the early 80s (connected to ‘computer rooms’ where people, pre-MIS would print out reports, on auto feed large wheel printers). There were home versions or PCs/personal computers as they were called, that you could either CARRY (see: the early Dells!) and basically, they were competing and KILLING the small, portable typewriter.. because you could edit and move around words, sentences and paragraphs — think about that! — instead of re-typing a whole page, or typing over a “typo” or using Liquid Paper (now, that “rocked” the 70s & 80s!!!). If you of course, had stock in Microsoft in the mid or late 80s… and didn’t sell, of [...]
